Treatments
In my practice I integrate several methods for treating pain and promoting health. When working with clients I find that combining treatments delivers the best results. The primary methods of treatment I am trained in include:
Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish massage techniques use pressure and fluid movements to stretch and loosen connective tissue and muscles to assist the joints and function reducing muscle tension, increasing circulation and calming the nervous system.
Shiatsu Therapy
Shiatsu Therapy is a Japanese healing therapy evolving from traditional Chinese massage that date back 3500 years. Shiatsu therapy involves sustained pressure that is both gently and firmly applied to acu –points along energetic pathways called meridians. It is often referred to as acupuncture without needles. Treatments include passive stretching to assist in easing tension accumulated in the joints, muscles and organs.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy (also called CST and cranial osteopathy), originated with a theory and practice by an American osteopathic physician in the early 1900's. Craniosacral therapy involves a gentle, hands on technique that locates restrictions in the body that may be contributing to pain, fatigue or neurological symptoms and releases them through gentle manipulations on the joints, spinal system and the skull. It also relieves the membranes, fascia and soft tissue structures.
