As a registered massage therapist, shiatsu therapist and shiatsu teacher I have been practicing for over 20 years. My passion for understanding the body has led me to continue learning new techniques. I use a combination of shiatsu, massage, cranial sacral and myofascial techniques to correct structural alignments, relieve pain and calm the nervous system.
For three years, I worked closely with a chiropractor whose practice focused on advanced back and neck pain thereby gaining very specific experience with these all to common conditions.
A graduate of modern dance from Simon Fraser University I had a dynamic career as a professional dancer before turning my affinity for movement and healing towards yoga, Pilates, therapeutic massage and shiatsu therapy. As a former dancer and athlete, I bring a deep understanding of how the body functions in dynamic motion as well as at rest.
Each treatment I offer is individualized as I use the client's own understanding of their experience of discomfort in their body combined with Western and Eastern assessment as my guide for determining appropriate treatment techniques. I am registered with the College of Massage Therapists. I provide receipts for my services.
Individual treatments can be designed for:
- healing of injuries such as shoulder and neck pain, low back pain, sprains and strains
- relief of temporary or chronic pain such as headaches or arthritis
- relaxation, soothing and calming the nervous system
- relieving tension, anxiety and stress
- increasing energy and vitality
- correcting structural misalignments
- treatment of chronic health conditions such as ALS, MS, diabetes, asthma, fibromyalgia
In addition, I also facilitate workshops with groups and corporations adapting the format to fit the needs of the group. I draw from my work in massage as well as gentle yoga, breathing, meditation and healthy lifestyle approaches.
